What are your biggest passions in life?

I’m passionate about acting. But what I’m most passionate in acting is exploring characters and understanding people. I’ve always been fascinated about why people are the way they are, why I am the way I am, what experiences have happened in someone else’s life or your own life, that have altered the path of how you think and that’s what drew me to acting, discovering that in myself and discovering that in other people.

Are you celebrating anything this year?

It’s this idea that we are taught that we should celebrate a certain day or a certain time, rather than just every day. And reminding ourselves even when we’re having a shitty day… some days I’m like why is this day the way it is, I have to remind me that every day is a gift. But every day is a gift and we just take it for granted so much. And that’s what I think we should be celebrating.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Just chill out! I would worry and get stressed. I still do. I still have to tell myself that, but just calm down. Chill out. Stop trying to control everything. Let life happen. Let go. I think the second you let go and stop trying to control everything or create a specific situation. I believe in manifesting, and that’s great and that’s healthy, but let life be what it’s going to be. Just let go.

How do you stay motivated?

I am the queen of the workout. Sometimes you have to get your body moving to get your mind moving, and sometimes your body doesn’t want to move or your mind doesn’t want to move, and I find for me if I can just get myself moving and get myself going, then I can get motivated and I can do anything.

There’s something about being lethargic and being sucked into the phone, or sucked into the sofa, and it numbs us and dumbs us down. When I feel that coming on, I just need to get up and do something like run around with me kids, go for a run, because I feel my brain going “okay, let’s go! let’s do this!” and that’s my motivator.

Was there an "a-ha moment" for you?

I wish I could say there was an a-ha moment. I feel like I’ve had 50 tiny ones. Most recently during COVID, I had my biggest a-ha moment, and that was working with someone who was teaching me to flow like water and ket go, and stop trying to push a rope and force things into a certain place. That was my most recent a-ha moment. For me, it’s something that really changed my life and I constantly have to remind myself of.

What’s your favourite time of day?

My favourite time of day… I would guess, this is so cheesy, 3 o’clock cocktail hour. There’s something about that. The night is still young, there is still so much time to be had, and also, the sun is coming down. You’re going to enjoy magic hour, you’re going to enjoy all those things, so I would say that transition 3 o’clock cocktail hour. You don’t know what’s going to happen. Anything can happen!

Tell us what you think of time.

Time is a funny thing. It feels endless in a weird way because it never stops, but somehow feels like there isn’t enough. A lot of people want to suck the life out of you, and I see that as time. They want to take away that time from you, and for me, it’s about letting those people go and bringing in the ones that make you feel like time is limitless.

What is your relationship with watches?

You don’t realize how complex and complicated this is. It’s like you always find a way for things to look clean and simple and elegant, but there’s so much more detail and so much more happening that it’s just stunning!

“This is stunning! This is gorgeous. Again, it’s the detail of the leather, I’ve never seen that. It’s so simple, and beautiful, and so elegant, It really is. I do love the VIEREN logo too!”

To me, this is simple, but complicated. From the outside - it appears so simple, so clean, so elegant - but there’s so much more going on with the watch. And in a way, that is how I identify with myself. There’s so much more and so much more beauty, but it can be so simple and elegant, and it can be these two things at one time.
