Introducing The VIEREN Gold Waves, The Latest From The Woman-Founded Brand Bringing Glamour To Gender-Neutral Watchmaking
Originally published by Erin Wilborn for Hodinkee
VIEREN was featured in Hodinkee for its distinctive approach to modern Swiss watchmaking, exploring the brand’s architectural rectangular watches, gender-neutral design philosophy, and collaboration between Founder Jess Chow and Creative Director Sunny Fong. The feature highlights Gold Waves, the latest evolution of VIEREN’s Stereo collection inspired by music, movement, and the glamour of Studio 54.
Redefining the Modern Rectangular Watch
Founded in Toronto and crafted in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, VIEREN brings together generations of watchmaking heritage with a modern design perspective. Built around three core pillars—architectural case design, Swiss automatic movements, and meaningful storytelling—each collection reflects the brand’s belief that luxury watches can be both mechanically sophisticated and expressive.
From the beginning, VIEREN was created as a gender-neutral watch brand, designing proportions and aesthetics that move beyond traditional categories. The signature rectangular case, slim profile, and distinctive details allow each timepiece to become a personal expression of style, rather than simply an accessory defined by convention.
The Stereo Collection: Where Watchmaking Meets Music & Movement
The Stereo collection represents VIEREN’s exploration of sound, energy, and visual rhythm through watch design. Inspired by vintage audio equipment and the golden era of music culture, the collection transforms familiar elements—such as volume controls, polished surfaces, and mechanical movement—into a sculptural wrist experience.
Featuring semi-skeletonized dials, exhibition casebacks, and Swiss Made automatic movements, Stereo showcases VIEREN’s ability to combine technical craftsmanship with emotional storytelling. Each design captures a different expression of confidence, from refined elegance to bold statement-making.
Gold Waves: The Latest Evolution of Stereo
Gold Waves represents the most expressive interpretation of the Stereo collection, translating the rhythm of sound waves into a three-dimensional dial design. Inspired by Studio 54 glamour and the energy of the disco era, the limited-edition timepiece features a gold PVD-coated case and bracelet, skeletonized Swiss automatic movement, and a sculptural dial that reflects light like a gilded disco ball.
Limited to only five pieces, Gold Waves demonstrates VIEREN’s approach to collectible watchmaking—creating rare timepieces where architecture, craftsmanship, and storytelling come together.
"Ultimately, this is a brand on the pulse of the next generation of watch wearers."
